TTIG continues advocating for an increase to the per diem paid to independent contractors who work in California courts.
The Judicial Council has referred TTIG’s request to raise the daily rate from $282.23 to an advisory committee, said Angie Birchfield, TTIG chair.
TTIG pointed out to the Judicial Council that federal interpreter pay rates have grown 34% over the last 10 years due to the higher cost of living while the state court certified interpreter rate has remained the same during the same time.
